Why we rebuild storefronts on Next.js (and when we don’t)

ARAdil Rehman·Jan 18, 2026·7 min read

Headless isn’t a silver bullet

Most stores don’t need headless. But when you need speed, content and custom merchandising, the platform’s limits start hurting revenue.

Our default stack

Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, a headless commerce backend (Shopify, Medusa or commercetools), and a content CMS (Sanity or Contentful).

What you gain

  • Sub-second page loads
  • Full control over UX
  • Editorial velocity your theme couldn’t match

What you lose

  • Some theme-based ecosystem tools
  • A bit of complexity around previews and caching

When we don’t rebuild

If you’re under $1M GMV with a small team — stay on the theme. The ROI comes once content, conversion and brand start compounding.

We also build this stuff for clients.
